The Void

‘The Void’ was Shawn’s final project for their foundation art course. Consisting of digital prints, an installation and trough, ‘The Void’ explores inner moods and turbulence through the unknown of the void. Centring on the void as a deity, the installation becomes a shrine to unknown feelings and reprieve from the chaos of them. Opposing darkness with acid pop colours, ‘The Void’ is a place to forget that which you do not know and embrace the hollowness left behind.

‘The Void’ also lives on in other forms. In prints on bedroom walls, and tattooed on various body parts, ‘The Void’ remains a solid presence in the group involved in this archive. One of the first major exhibits of any of our art works, it is perhaps this reason ‘The Void’ continues to persist so much in our archives.
