‘Floral Fallacies’ is a joint painting between Alex and Shawn. With the red background configured by Shawn, and the blue phallic details added by Alex, the piece has gone on to multiple renditions and uses. From its Bodies of Eden exhibition, where it was shown with larger-than-life sculptures of bodily organs created by Alex, to its Floral Arrangements performance, where it saw Shawn become performative furniture. ‘Floral Fallacies’ is an experiment between two queer artists on the body, sexuality and the ways in which they can be viewed and constructed. The role of nature and organics connects sex to nature, nature to sex, and celebrates everything in between.
